Wind Chill
Wind chill is the perceived decrease in air temperature felt by the body on exposed skin due to the flow of air. In astronautical engineering, wind chill is an important factor to consider when designing space suits and spacecrafts. The temperature in space is already extremely low, and the wind chill effect can make it even colder. Therefore, engineers must ensure that the materials used in space suits and spacecrafts can withstand the extreme cold and wind chill effect. Additionally, wind chill can affect the performance of spacecrafts during launch and re-entry, as it can cause ice buildup on the exterior of the spacecraft, which can impact its aerodynamics and stability.
