Water Recovery

Water recovery is the process of collecting, treating, and reusing water in space. In space missions, water is a precious resource and must be conserved. Water recovery systems are used to collect and treat wastewater, urine, and humidity condensate to produce potable water. The process involves several steps, including filtration, chemical treatment, and distillation. The treated water is then stored in tanks and reused for various purposes, such as drinking, food preparation, and hygiene. Water recovery systems are essential for long-duration space missions, such as those to Mars, where water resupply is not feasible. The success of water recovery systems is critical for the sustainability of human space exploration.
