Tungsten

Tungsten is a metal that is commonly used in space and astronautical engineering due to its high melting point, high density, and strength. It is often used in rocket nozzles, electrical contacts, and radiation shielding. Tungsten is also used in the construction of spacecraft components such as gyroscopes, reaction wheels, and heat shields. Its high melting point allows it to withstand the extreme temperatures experienced during re-entry into the Earth's atmosphere. Tungsten is also used in the production of filaments for electric propulsion systems and in the construction of ion thrusters.
