Solid Propellant


Solid propellant is a type of rocket propellant that is made up of a mixture of fuel and oxidizer, which are both in a solid form. When ignited, the propellant burns and produces hot gases that are expelled out of the rocket nozzle, providing thrust. Solid propellants are commonly used in rocket motors for space launch vehicles, missiles, and other aerospace applications. They offer several advantages over liquid propellants, including simpler storage and handling, higher reliability, and lower cost. However, they also have some disadvantages, such as lower specific impulse and less flexibility in adjusting the thrust level during flight.
