Shift Registers
Shift registers are sequential logic circuits that are used to store and shift data. They are commonly used in digital electronics and communication systems to transmit and receive data. A shift register consists of a chain of flip-flops, where each flip-flop stores one bit of data. The data is shifted from one flip-flop to the next in a serial manner, either in a left or right direction. Shift registers can be used for various purposes, such as data storage, data transfer, and signal processing. They are also used in applications such as shift keying, frequency division, and waveform generation.
