Scaffolds

In space and astronautical engineering, scaffolds refer to the temporary structures used to support and guide the assembly of large space structures, such as satellites, telescopes, and space stations. Scaffolds are designed to provide a stable platform for workers and equipment, as well as to ensure the accuracy and safety of the assembly process. They can be made of various materials, such as aluminum, steel, or composite materials, and can be either fixed or adjustable. Scaffolds are often used in conjunction with robotic systems to facilitate the assembly process and reduce the need for human intervention. The design and construction of scaffolds require careful consideration of the unique challenges posed by the space environment, such as microgravity, extreme temperatures, and radiation exposure.
