Numerical Simulation

Numerical simulation is the process of using mathematical models and computer algorithms to create a virtual representation of a physical system or process. In the context of space and astronautical engineering, numerical simulation is used to predict and analyze the behavior of spacecraft, rockets, and other space-related systems. This includes simulating the trajectory of a spacecraft, the performance of a rocket engine, or the behavior of materials in space. Numerical simulation allows engineers to test and optimize designs before physical prototypes are built, reducing costs and improving safety. It also enables the exploration of scenarios that may be difficult or impossible to replicate in the real world, such as extreme temperatures or pressures. The accuracy of numerical simulations depends on the quality of the mathematical models and the precision of the algorithms used to solve them.
