Noctilucent Clouds

Noctilucent clouds are thin and rare clouds that form in the upper atmosphere, at altitudes of around 80 km. They are made up of ice crystals and are only visible during astronomical twilight. Noctilucent clouds are believed to be formed by water vapor and dust particles that are deposited by meteors. They are an important indicator of changes in the upper atmosphere and are being studied to understand the effects of climate change on the Earth's atmosphere.
