Magnetic Torquers

Magnetic torquers are devices used in spacecraft attitude control systems to generate a magnetic dipole moment that interacts with the Earth's magnetic field. This interaction produces a torque that can be used to control the spacecraft's orientation. Magnetic torquers are typically used in conjunction with other attitude control devices, such as reaction wheels and thrusters, to provide a complete attitude control system. They are particularly useful for small spacecraft, where their low power consumption and simplicity make them an attractive option. Magnetic torquers can also be used for orbit maintenance and station keeping, as well as for attitude control during scientific missions.
