Distributed Active Archive Centers (DAACs)

Distributed Active Archive Centers (DAACs) are data centers that provide access to Earth science data collected by NASA's Earth Observing System (EOS) and other satellite missions. DAACs are responsible for archiving, distributing, and providing user support for data products related to various Earth science disciplines, including atmospheric science, oceanography, hydrology, and land surface studies. DAACs also provide tools and services for data discovery, visualization, and analysis, as well as user support and training. There are currently 12 DAACs, each specializing in a different type of Earth science data, such as the Atmospheric Science Data Center (ASDC), the Ocean Biology Processing Group (OBPG), and the Land Processes Distributed Active Archive Center (LP DAAC).
