Complementary Metal-oxide-semiconductor Sensors

Complementary Metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) sensors are electronic devices that convert optical images into electronic signals. They are widely used in space and astronautical engineering for imaging applications due to their low power consumption, high sensitivity, and small size. CMOS sensors consist of an array of pixels, each of which contains a photodiode and a transistor. When light strikes the photodiode, it generates an electrical charge that is read out by the transistor. The charge is then converted into a digital signal that can be processed by a computer. CMOS sensors are commonly used in space telescopes, planetary rovers, and Earth observation satellites.
