Communications Satellites

Communications satellites are artificial satellites that relay radio signals for telecommunications purposes. They are used to provide television, telephone, radio, internet, and other communication services to remote areas and ships at sea. Communications satellites are placed in geostationary orbit, which means they orbit the Earth at the same rate as the Earth rotates, allowing them to remain in a fixed position relative to the ground. They typically have multiple transponders, which receive signals from Earth-based stations and retransmit them to other locations on Earth. Communications satellites have revolutionized global communication, making it possible to communicate with people on the other side of the world in real-time.
