Centrifugal Compressors

Centrifugal compressors are a type of dynamic compressor that uses rotating impellers to increase the velocity of a gas stream, which is then converted into pressure. They are commonly used in space and astronautical engineering for various applications such as gas turbine engines, rocket propulsion systems, and environmental control systems. Centrifugal compressors are highly efficient and can handle large volumes of gas with relatively low maintenance requirements. They are also capable of operating at high speeds and can handle a wide range of gas compositions and pressures. However, they are sensitive to changes in gas density and can experience performance degradation at high altitudes or low ambient temperatures.
