Chromatic Aberration

Chromatic aberration is an optical phenomenon that occurs when a lens or a mirror fails to focus all colors to the same convergence point. This results in a blurred or distorted image with color fringes around the edges. Chromatic aberration is caused by the dispersion of light, which means that different colors of light have different refractive indices when passing through a lens or a mirror. This effect is more pronounced in telescopes and other optical instruments used in space and astronautical engineering due to the extreme conditions of the space environment. To correct chromatic aberration, special lenses made of multiple elements with different refractive indices are used. These lenses are designed to minimize the dispersion of light and bring all colors to the same focal point, resulting in a clear and sharp image.
