Butterfly Valves

Butterfly valves are quarter-turn valves that are used to regulate or isolate the flow of fluids in a pipeline. They consist of a circular disc with a pivot axis at the center, which is mounted on a shaft. The disc can be rotated to allow or block the flow of fluid. Butterfly valves are commonly used in space and astronautical engineering applications due to their lightweight, compact design and ease of operation. They are often used in fuel systems, propulsion systems, and other fluid handling systems. The disc of a butterfly valve can be made from a variety of materials, including metals, plastics, and composites, depending on the specific application. The valve can be actuated manually, electrically, or pneumatically, and can be designed to operate in a wide range of temperatures and pressures.
