Nuclear-powered Spacecraft

Nuclear-powered spacecraft are vehicles that use nuclear energy to generate power for propulsion, electricity, and other systems necessary for space exploration. The use of nuclear power in spacecraft allows for longer missions, greater propulsion efficiency, and the ability to operate in environments where solar power is not feasible. Nuclear-powered spacecraft have been used for a variety of missions, including deep space exploration, planetary science, and Earth observation. The first nuclear-powered spacecraft was the Soviet Union's RORSAT, launched in 1967. Since then, several other countries, including the United States, have developed and launched nuclear-powered spacecraft. The use of nuclear power in space exploration is highly regulated and requires strict safety measures to prevent accidents and contamination.
